![]() We recommend bringing a cast iron griddle or skillet for cooking over the fire. Johnnie cooked all of our meals over the fire. The fire pit is a 30" ring, so if you bring two 3-foot sections of rebar or angle iron, you'll be able to support your grill rack and cook over the open fire like a champion. If you want to cook on the fire pit, you'll need to bring your grill grate and supports. To make the most of the fire pit, you'll need to bring camp chairs or folding chairs. There is a nice fireplace in the living room. Histopathologists, also known as pathologists, study and analyze the samples. These people prepare the samples for analysis. People who work in histology laboratories are called histotechnicans, histotechnologists, or histology technicians. If a person dies unexpectedly, the microscopic study of specific biological tissues can help experts discover the cause.Īs in forensic investigations, experts study tissues from deceased people and animals to understand the causes of death.īiological samples from archeological sites can provide useful data about what was happening thousands of years ago. In teaching labs, histology slides can help students learn about the microstructures of biological tissues.ĭoctors take tissue samples, or biopsies, from people who may have cancer or other illnesses and send the samples to a lab, where a histologist can analyze them. Histology is vital for the understanding and advancement of medicine, veterinary medicine, biology, and other aspects of life science. This makes it easier to identify the specific tissues under investigation. The aim of staining tissues and cells is to add or enhance color. Sectioning involves cutting tissue into very thin slices for close examination. They may then examine them under an electron or light microscope. Through microscopic anatomy, people can learn about the structure of cells and how they relate to each other.įor example, if a person has cancer, examining the tissue under the microscope will reveal how the cancerous cells are acting and how they affect healthy tissue.Ī researcher may apply histological techniques such as sectioning and staining to tissues and cells. These subjects are too small to see without a microscope. Microscopic anatomy, also known as histology, is the study of cells and tissues of animals, humans, and plants. These systems all work together and depend on each other to function. the integumentary system, which includes the skin, hair, and nails, among other areas.the cardiovascular system, including the heart.the endocrine system, which regulates hormone production.the nervous system, including the central and autonomic systems. There are 11 organ systems in the human body: Students of gross anatomy learn about the major systems of the body. Medical and dental students also perform dissection as part of their practical work during their studies. MRI scans, CT scans, PET scans, X-rays, ultrasounds, and other types of imaging can also show what is happening inside a living body. This reveals how the circulatory system is working and whether there are any blockages. For example, to study the blood vessels of living animals or humans, a scientist or doctor may inject an opaque dye, then use imaging technology, such as angiography, to see the vessels that contain the dye. There are also less invasive methods of investigation. By passing it through the mouth or rectum, for example, they can examine the inside of the gastrointestinal tract. It involves a scientist or doctor inserting a long, thin tube with a camera at the end into different parts of the body. In dissection, a scientist cuts open an organism - a plant or the body of a human or another animal - and examines what they discover inside.Įndoscopy is a tool for diagnosing illness, but it can also play a role in research. The aim is to collect data about the larger structures of organs and organ systems. The study of gross anatomy may involve dissection or noninvasive methods. In other words, a person does not need a microscope to see these features. ![]() In medicine, gross, macro, or topographical anatomy refers to the study of the biological structures that the eye can see. The parameters for this system of ODEs are c = 0.5 kgs^−1, m = 2kg and g = −9.81 ms^−2. Then the entire coupled system of equations is, dU/dt= -c/m(U) If we employ the methodology described above and define explicitly the velocities in X AND Y as, U = dX/dt Where r is the position of the projectile, c is the drag coefficient, m is the mass of the projectile and g is the acceleration due to gravity.Īssuming only two-dimensions in component form this, of course, reads, d^2 X/dt^2 = -c(dX/dt)= U ![]() In 1 s an object falls 5 m without air resistance. The equation is: d^2 r/dt^2 = -c/m (dr/dt)+g If the initial speed is great enough, the projectile goes into orbit. The range is larger than predicted by the range equation given earlier because the projectile has farther to fall than it would on level ground, as shown in Figure, which is based on a drawing in Newton’s Principia. If, however, the range is large, Earth curves away below the projectile and the acceleration resulting from gravity changes direction along the path. When we speak of the range of a projectile on level ground, we assume R is very small compared with the circumference of Earth. (d) Using a graphing utility, we can compare the two trajectories, which are shown in Figure. Figure illustrates the notation for displacement, where we define \mathbf In other cases we may choose a different set of axes. It is not required that we use this choice of axes it is simply convenient in the case of gravitational acceleration. (This choice of axes is the most sensible because acceleration resulting from gravity is vertical thus, there is no acceleration along the horizontal axis when air resistance is negligible.) As is customary, we call the horizontal axis the x-axis and the vertical axis the y-axis. The key to analyzing two-dimensional projectile motion is to break it into two motions: one along the horizontal axis and the other along the vertical. We discussed this fact in Displacement and Velocity Vectors, where we saw that vertical and horizontal motions are independent. The most important fact to remember here is that motions along perpendicular axes are independent and thus can be analyzed separately. In this section, we consider two-dimensional projectile motion, and our treatment neglects the effects of air resistance. ![]() The motion of falling objects as discussed in Motion Along a Straight Line is a simple one-dimensional type of projectile motion in which there is no horizontal movement. Such objects are called projectiles and their path is called a trajectory. Some examples include meteors as they enter Earth’s atmosphere, fireworks, and the motion of any ball in sports. The applications of projectile motion in physics and engineering are numerous. Projectile motion is the motion of an object thrown or projected into the air, subject only to acceleration as a result of gravity. Calculate the trajectory of a projectile.Find the time of flight and impact velocity of a projectile that lands at a different height from that of launch.Calculate the range, time of flight, and maximum height of a projectile that is launched and impacts a flat, horizontal surface.Use one-dimensional motion in perpendicular directions to analyze projectile motion.By the end of this section, you will be able to: ![]() ![]() Siesta Key has one of the best beaches in Southwest Florida. Turtle Beach RV Campground - Siesta Key Florida Turtle Beach Campground and RV Park - Siesta Key Florida The sequence in question starts off with Kid Cudi looking down melancholically, followed by a tearful Kanye West being consoled by Michelle Obama. Released in 2018, Gambino’s music video features a number of popular Black celebrities from the worlds of politics and media, such as Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Michelle Obama, Beyoncé Knowles, and NFL player Shannon Sharpe. Drawing on the work on the politics of animation by Eric Herhuth, this post argues that the animation in Gambino’s video provides an interesting fantasy world for the animated representations of the celebrities to interact with one another, their actions creating an important dialogue with the framing social and political contexts. Focusing on the first of these sequences, this blog post analyses animation’s ability as a medium to visually communicate the nuances of climate change, politics, race and hip-hop culture, as put forth by Gambino’s clever storytelling throughout the video. Animation helps to visualise the fantasy spaces within his subconscious, as he relates certain celebrities to the lyrics. The latter is more evident in two parts of the music video, where the animated representation of Gambino seems to be reflecting his thoughts as he walks through the street in the hot sun. We see evidence of animation’s longstanding political function, as well as engagements with the medium’s ongoing relationship to documentary. With the lyrics cautioning against our harmful actions negatively impacting the climate, the use of animation in this music video allows us to comprehend the complex and interlinked messages of climate change, race and politics that Gambino is conveying. ![]() However, listening closely to the lyrics, it is clear that Gambino is talking about the dangers of climate change, stating “every day gets hotter than the one before,” and that we’re running out of water and killing the bees. We see celebrities engaging in various fun summer activities in this fantasy community, including Migos playing basketball, Will Smith washing his car, and J Cole dowsing the hip-hop duo of Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee with a water hose for annoying him with water guns. Childish Gambino’s animated music video “Feels Like Summer ” (Childish Gambino, 2018) places many animated representations of hip-hop artists, actors and well-known celebrities in a fictional Atlanta neighbourhood. ![]() The contest period period for weeks 2 to 10 will be for the same time period (Monday to Sunday). Exercise upregulates the concentration of these transporters and channels to assist in metabolism, ATP formation, ion transport, and signaling and performance adaptations. ![]() This exemplifies the point that specific transporters and channels must exist within the muscle membranes for taurine’s import and export. For instance, glycolytic muscle fibers have been found to harbor ~ 1–3 μmol/g of taurine, while oxidative muscle contains ~ 15–20 μmol/g. High concentrations of taurine are found in different muscle types. Taurine concentrations are regulated by the kidney via urine excretion urine excretion of taurine can range from 65 to 250 mg daily. ![]() Plasma taurine has been shown to return to baseline concentrations 6–8 h after ingestion. Interestingly, taurine’s bioavailability is improved on an empty stomach. Nevertheless, the vast majority of taurine absorption occurs in the gastrointestinal tract within 1–2.5 h following ingestion. Some taurine is converted to isethionate by bacterial or tissue enzymes which are then converted to CO 2, water, ammonia, or urea. In humans, one-fourth of bile acids are conjugated with taurine before absorption. Pharmacokinetics and distribution of Taurine An in-depth explanation of the pharmacokinetics, distribution, and impacts of taurine on metabolism (fat metabolism in particular), and how taurine may impact metabolic stress (inflammation, oxidation, and calcium handling) will be provided first. For the purpose of this review, we have split the dosages into low (0.5–2 g), moderate (3–5 g), and high (> 5 g). The purpose of this review is to investigate the literature to date surrounding the effectiveness of taurine supplementation on exercise outcomes: aerobic adaptations and performance, anaerobic (strength and power) performance, muscle soreness, and recovery. However, taurine doses have ranged from 500 mg/d to 10 g/d in published human trials. Following this absorption phase, taurine levels return to baseline within 6.5 h (hrs). Importantly, several factors such as taurine ingestion timing, delivery format, and exercise protocol contribute to taurine’s impact on performance. Notably, plasma concentrations of taurine increase ~ 10 min after ingestion and generally peak (0.03 to 0.06 mmoL) ~ 1 h following ingestion. Taurine supplementation often occurs through oral ingestion of capsules or taurine-rich beverages. Accordingly, taurine has been used as a potential ergogenic aid to improve athletic performance. Taurine plays a beneficial role in diverse metabolic and physiological processes, such as glucose and lipid regulation, energy metabolism, anti-inflammatory modulation, and antioxidant actions. ![]() Rich sources of dietary taurine come from the consumption of animal proteins. Taurine is especially abundant in skeletal muscle. Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that can be derived from cysteine metabolism and accounts for 50–60% of the free amino acid pool.
